N. Alexander Jones, MD, FACS

Dr. Jones graduated in 1999 from the University of Alabama with a B.S in accounting. He received his M.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2004. By 2010 Dr. Jones completed his general surgical training at Iowa Methodist Medical Center located in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Jones is board certified by the American Board of Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. 

Dr. Jones wanted to start a surgical practice bringing newly advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques to the area. He opened Emerald Bay Surgical Associates, LLC in 2010 recognizing this need in Panama City. Shortly after starting the practice, Dr. Jones performed the first robotic assisted lobectomy in Bay County and immediate service area, the first robotic assisted procedures for colon and rectal cancer in Northwest Florida, and the first robotic assisted esophagectomy in North Florida. Dr. Jones believes in the traditional doctor-patient relationship, treating each of his patients as he would like to be treated. 

Dr. Jones currently provides surgery services for lung cancer and other thoracic surgeries, hernias, aggressive skin cancers such as melanoma, gallbladder disease, breast cancer, diseases of the colon, and many smaller in-office type procedures.
